Our fashion department plays an important role in creating a welcoming, stylish, and memorable in-store experience.
Position Overview
The Fashion Department Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the daily coordination and presentation of the fashion department. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working on the sales floor, supporting a team, and ensuring the department looks and operates at its best.
Working closely with Ownership and Senior Management, the Fashion Department Lead helps bring direction and consistency to the department while remaining actively involved with customers, staff, and product. This role also requires a strong awareness of current and emerging fashion trends to help keep the department relevant, appealing, and forward-looking.
Key Responsibilities
Department Leadership
– Serve as the primary point of contact for the fashion department during day-to-day operations
– Support, guide, and schedule fashion staff to ensure strong coverage and teamwork
– Maintain department standards for organization, cleanliness, and presentation
– Lead by example through active customer engagement and POS use
Customer Experience & Sales
– Deliver exceptional customer service with confident product knowledge and styling support
– Assist customers with fit, coordination, and wardrobe selection
– Encourage sales growth through positive customer interactions and staff coaching
Visual Merchandising, Inventory & Trend Awareness
– Maintain visual merchandising standards to keep the department inviting and current
– Support seasonal floor changes and product transitions
– Assist with inventory accuracy, stock rotation, and feedback on product performance
– Stay informed on fashion trends and customer preferences, helping the department remain current and, where possible, ahead of trends
Team & Store Collaboration
– Work collaboratively with other departments to support store-wide initiatives and events
– Provide product insights and content ideas to the Social Media & Marketing team
– Participate in community events and in-store promotions representing the fashion department
Fashion Allowance & Apparel
This role includes a fashion allowance and provided apparel, allowing the Fashion Department Lead to wear and showcase current merchandise while working on the sales floor. This helps create an authentic and confident customer experience.
Buying Support & Travel
As experience and trust grow, this role may include the opportunity to accompany Ownership on buying trips. This may involve occasional short-term travel for a few days at a time.
Qualifications
– Experience in fashion retail, senior sales, or a leadership role
– Strong communication, organization, and people skills
– Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
– POS experience required; Lightspeed experience is an asset
– A genuine interest in fashion, trends, and helping customers feel their best

– Compensation: Negotiated based on experience
