Here's what's going on this month at The Green Spot Home & Garden Center

Asters are blooming, and you know what that means… We won’t have much time left to enjoy what’s left of summer—with the slowly dipping overnight temperatures, the erratic rise and fall of daytime highs, and the unmistakable scent of autumn in the air.

This marks the final push to get trees in the ground before frost hits. September is one of the two ideal times to plant windrows and hedges. And as a former farm kid (once upon a time, at least), I know it’s a hard scramble to get everything off the fields, get the kids ready for school, and still find time to see the people you love while they’re awake. Farmers really do so much—for far too little recognition.

Even us ‘regular’ folks struggle to keep up with September. There’s the garden to clear out, preserving to do (if you’re into that—no shame either way!), and the house to keep from being buried under the avalanche of school supplies. (Seriously, do those supply lists ever get shorter?) Then there’s new school clothes and making sure you’ve got a gift for the new teacher—speaking of heroes who don’t get nearly enough credit!

September feels like a sprint after the sweet pause of summer. Are we falling behind, or is it just the chaos of getting back into routine? Honestly, it’s just a feeling. You’re doing fine. Please remember that.

Nobody’s really got life figured out—we’re all just doing the best we can.
