Soy Harvest Candles brings fragrance, warmth and a personal story to your space. This women-owned and operated Winnipeg business creates hand-poured soy candles, giving us another Manitoba maker we're proud to share with our customers at The Green Spot.
Soy Harvest's story began in 2005, when Sheila discovered soy candles and started making her own that fall. With soy wax, fragrance oils and cotton wicks, she began sharing her work through craft sales.
Her father, George, helped introduce the candles to Winnipeg stores. As demand grew, the kitchen gave way to a basement studio fitted with pouring tables and a sink. Sheila remembers moving glass jars through the basement window with her dad, a hands-on beginning that says plenty about the effort behind building a small business.
Today, Soy Harvest credits its production team and customers for helping that early passion grow into the hand-poured candle business it is now.
Soy Harvest uses soy wax with cotton or natural wooden wicks, depending on the collection. Its candles pair fragrance with reusable glass jars, bringing together the scent, presentation and finishing details that make a candle enjoyable to choose and give.
The production team's work is central to the brand. Behind the finished candle are the people pouring it and carrying forward an idea that began in a home kitchen.
