Online Order Return Policy

At The Green Spot Home & Garden Center, we stand behind the quality of our products. That said, returns are governed by the following terms to ensure fairness, transparency, and operational sanity.
1. General Return Eligibility
- Returns are accepted only with prior authorization.
- Customers must contact us before mailing any return.
Unauthorized returns may be refused or returned to sender at the customer’s expense.
- Items must be unused, unwashed, unworn, and in original condition, including original packaging, tags, and accessories.
2. Return Window
- Online orders must be reported for return within 14 days of delivery, unless otherwise stated on the product page.
- Approved returns must be shipped within the timeframe provided in the return authorization.
3. Shipping Responsibility
- Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, including any duties, taxes, or brokerage fees.
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable, even if the order was shipped free or at a promotional rate.
- We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping method. We are not responsible for items lost or damaged in transit.
4. Inspection & Refund Processing
- No refund will be issued until the product is received and inspected by our team.
- Refunds are issued to the original method of payment only.
- Processing times may vary, but refunds are typically completed within 7–10 business days after inspection approval.
5. Fashion & Apparel Returns
- Mailed fashion returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee, deducted from the refund amount.
- No restocking fee applies if fashion items are returned in person at The Green Spot Home & Garden Center.
- Items showing signs of wear, damage, odour, pet hair, or alteration will not be accepted.
6. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are final sale and not eligible for return or refund unless required by law:
- Clearance or final-sale items
- Live plants, seeds, bulbs, or perishable goods
- Custom, special-order, or made-to-order items
- Gift cards
- Opened consumables (food, fertilizer, soil amendments, etc.)
7. Condition & Damage
- Intentional damage, misuse, or alteration of a product voids any right to a refund or exchange.
- Items returned in a condition inconsistent with normal inspection (including deliberate damage to force a return) will be refused.
8. Incorrect or Defective Items
- If you receive an incorrect or defective item, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos and order details.
- Approved claims will be handled in accordance with Canadian consumer protection laws and may result in a replacement, refund, or store credit at our discretion.
9. Exchanges
- We do not offer direct exchanges for online orders.
- Approved returns may be refunded, and a new order may be placed separately.
10. Abuse & Policy Enforcement
- We reserve the right to limit or refuse returns from customers exhibiting excessive, suspicious, or abusive return behaviour.
- This policy does not limit your rights under applicable Canadian or Manitoba consumer protection legislation, but it does define how returns are handled where the law allows discretion.
