West Coast Seeds - Mexican Tarragon Organic Seeds

Mexican Tarragon is a heat-loving culinary and ornamental herb with fragrant green leaves and a sweet, anise-like flavour reminiscent of French tarragon. Unlike true French tarragon, it thrives in hot summer conditions and can be readily grown from seed. Bright golden-yellow flowers appear later in the season, adding cheerful colour to herb gardens and containers while attracting beneficial pollinators.

Why you’ll love it:

  • Sweet, aromatic flavour similar to French tarragon
  • Excellent heat tolerance for summer gardens
  • Fresh leaves are ideal for sauces, dressings, poultry, fish, and vegetables
  • Produces attractive golden-yellow flowers
  • Excellent combination of culinary and ornamental value
  • Flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators

Suggested Uses:
Start seeds indoors before the last spring frost and transplant outdoors once temperatures are reliably warm and all danger of frost has passed. Grow in full sun and well-drained soil, harvesting young leaves and stems as needed throughout the summer. Use the fresh foliage anywhere a sweet, anise-like tarragon flavour is desired, including sauces, dressings, poultry, fish, vegetables, and herb vinegars. Plants can also be grown simply for their fragrant foliage and colourful late-season flowers.
