The Green Spot Fashion Show Is Back!

We’re turning Saturday night over to Fall and Winter fashion. Join us for fresh seasonal looks, familiar favourites, snacks, wine and plenty of inspiration from Papa, Renuar, French Dressing Jeans, Tribal and more.

This year’s show celebrates fashion for women, men and everyone in between—because great style does not belong to one age, size, shape or kind of person.

The Bloom Box will also join us with a special show-stopping creation made for the evening. We’re not revealing it early. Some surprises deserve better than being spoiled on the internet.

Saturday, October 3
Doors open at 6:00 PM · Fashion Show begins at 7:00 PM
Tickets: $25 per person
Snacks included · Wine available for purchase

Tickets are limited. Bring a friend or two and join us for an evening of fashion, food, wine and fun at The Green Spot.

Indoor edible gardening supplies at The Green Spot
DOUBLE POINTS

Keep Growing with Indoor Edible Gardening

Insiders earn double points on indoor edible gardening supplies throughout September. Grow herbs, microgreens and fresh sprouts in your kitchen all fall and winter with seeds, sprouting kits, grow lights, soil, growing media and fertilizer from The Green Spot.

Growing Microgreens

Fill a shallow tray with damp growing medium, sow seeds densely across the surface and place the tray beneath a grow light. Keep the medium evenly moist without soaking it.

Most microgreens are ready to snip once their first true leaves appear—often in just one to three weeks, depending on the variety.

Using a Sprouting Jar
  1. Add sprouting seeds to a clean jar and soak them in water according to the seed package directions.
  2. Drain through the sprouting lid, then rinse with fresh water.
  3. Drain thoroughly and place the jar at an angle so excess moisture can escape.
  4. Rinse and drain two or three times daily.
  5. Harvest when the sprouts reach the desired size, then refrigerate.

Pair your drinkware with a reusable Therma Max insulated lunch bag to keep lunches, snacks and beverages packed together and ready to go—rather than letting a yogurt container and loose apple fend for themselves at the bottom of your bag.

Prepare Garden Beds for Winter with HealthiStraw

Give garden beds and perennial plantings an extra layer of protection before Manitoba’s freeze-and-thaw cycle gets to work. HealthiStraw GardenStraw is an all-natural, biodegradable wheat-straw mulch that helps insulate soil, protect roots and reduce sudden temperature fluctuations.

Applied in late fall—ideally after the ground has cooled or frozen—it can help prevent repeated thawing and refreezing from pushing shallow-rooted plants out of the soil. It also reduces erosion, supports beneficial soil life and adds organic matter as it breaks down.

Use it around established perennials, vegetables, herbs, fruit shrubs, raised beds and containers. Avoid piling mulch directly against plant crowns or woody stems, where trapped moisture can cause more trouble than the winter weather you were trying to prevent.
