Preparation Instructions
All you need:
- Mac & Cheese seasoning (included)
- 250 g (1 cup) macaroni
- 45 mL (3 tbsp) salted butter
- 15 mL (1 tbsp) flour
- 375 mL (1½ cup) milk
- 125 g (½ cup / 4 oz) cream cheese
- 500 mL (2 cups) aged cheddar cheese, shredded
- 15 mL (1 tbsp) dry breadcrumbs
All you do:
- Preheat oven to BROIL and set aside 30 mL (2 tbsp) of cheddar for topping.
- Cook macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water for 10 minutes.
- While pasta cooks, melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Blend in the seasoning mix, then stir in the flour until well combined.
- Whisk in the milk, raise the heat (careful not to boil over), and cook until slightly thickened (about 5 minutes).
- Remove from heat and stir in cream cheese and cheddar until melted.
- Mix in the cooked and drained macaroni.
- Top with reserved cheddar and breadcrumbs.
- Broil briefly—just until the topping is melted and crisp. Watch closely!
